Advanced Poker Training Launches

Officially launched in recent days is a new poker training site, AdvancedPokerTraining.com, which has a unique virtual training method.  Its instruction is totally done online, with nothing to download or install.  You simply register, set up a payment method, and start using the system to improve your play.

Once you log in to the poker training site, you’ll see the Member Information page, which has four major buckets for you to interact with.  Inside the Member Control Panel, you’ll be able to start a session, take the weekly challenge, view your weekly poker training report, watch videos on how to use the training system, review instructional screenshots, view your statistics, replay your saved hands, and select hands to share.

Starting a session will jump you right into the simulator, so you won’t be playing for any real money or have to be logged into any online poker site. Once the table loads, you will be able to pick the table type, which ranges from “Phil’s Garage,” which is a very easy home game, all the way up to "KGB’s Dungeon," which has only the most ruthless sharks playing.  You can put in the number of chips you bring to the table and, once you hit “Submit,” you’ll be put into the game.

The simulator looks very familiar to anyone that has played any form of online poker.  You’ll see a little icon for every player at the table and if you hover over them, you will be given their name, where they are from, and a quick biography that will give you some tells on how they play.

The play in the game is extremely fast, so you won’t have to labor through each hand.  It works a bit like Rush Poker, where once you fold, it’ll automatically zip you to the next hand.  It makes playing the simulator a lot fun since hands go by very quickly.  There aren’t Heads-Up Display (HUD) stats, but there are the usual buttons to fold, call, and raise with a bet slider and dialog box.  The game options allow you to specify who your advisor is, your hand types, and your position.  There are also options to peek at a villain’s cards and save all hands from a session.

You decide when your session is over by hitting the “Quit and Save” button on the top right of the poker table. You’ll then be taken to your session report, which will break down your session and give you advice on your play.  You can replay the auto-saved hands and check out the skills description page for additional training tips.

In this report, you will be told how many hands you played in the session and receive a Real Poker Skill score for various aspects of the session.  Some of the ratings you’ll be critiqued on will be the overall session, pre-flop, flop, turn, river, c-bet, ahead going to flop in a raised pot, ahead going to turn, ahead going to river, and won at showdown.

One of the really fun features of the site is taking on the Weekly Challenge.  Each week, there will be a new challenge that you can take on.  For example, one of the recent challenges was “Playing from the Big Blind,” where players would go through and play a bunch of hands in this scenario.  Once you are done, you not only get a skills assessment, but you’ll also have your score compared to other users on a leaderboard.  It makes for a lot of fun to see how you did against other people taking the training program.

The site currently has a “Double Your Money Back” guarantee, which is unmatched in the industry.  The membership cost is one of the lowest in the poker training arena at $19.97 per month, which gets discounted to $99.97 for a six-month subscription.  Check out Advanced Poker Training today.
